Bras Are Not Sized Correctly on Women

This post is different from my other one's. It's based on a real life issue.

Bras.

Lately, I've been seeing posts on social media sites. It has to do with bra sizing, and, honestly, IT IS INCORRECT.
Society makes you think that DD's are bigger than A's.

It's NOT ALWAYS true.

A 36A holds the same amount (grams) as a 30D.
A 32C holds the same amount as a 28DD.
A 38AA holds the same amount as a 32C.

Do you see what happens?

The cup size does NOT determine the size of the breasts. It merely determines the DIFFERENCE in size between the rib cage and the breast.

The band-size, or the NUMBER portion of the bra, is the size inches around the ribcage.
In order to get the correct cup size, you measure around the rib cage and around the fullest part of the breast. The difference determines the cup. It works out to be something like this.

1> AA
1 = A
2 = B
3 = C
4 = D
5 = DD........ and so on.


The problem that exists today is that places like Victoria Secret and Macy's will tell you the INCORRECT size for you. What it does is give you a SISTER size. See what I wrote before, about how 36A holds the same as 30D? That's what these stores do to you. They give you a sister size, usually because they don't carry your actual size. These bras DO NOT give you the support you need. This is why you end up with bras that ride up your back or bras that leave deep marks on your shoulders.

If I walk into these stores, they try to tell me I am a 32AA or a 32D. Then they try to fit me in one, and they look at me with complete confusion. You know why? My ribs are only about 25.3 inches around. Why am I putting on such a loose bra? It doesn't fit right. It ends up riding up my back.

Now you may wonder how the AA comes into play, too. Well, let me tell you something else I have discovered.
How stores measure women.
They measure around your ribs, yes, but they ADD inches. If you are an uneven number, they will add 5 inches. If you are an even number, they will add 4 inches.

So, if I measure 25.3 inches around, they will add 5 inches. 30.3. Then they will round up. Since there is no size 31, they will get 32. See where they get the 32 band size? And since my bust is small, they assume I am a difference of less than one inch. That creates the AA.
So they say 32AA should fit. Ha. Funny. It doesn't even equal half my boob.
Look at the mess this creates.

So where are they getting these numbers? Well, many sites only suggest that when bras first came out, that's how they were made - you add inches. But modern bras DO NOT follow this anymore. There is no need. See what happens when they don't? You get sizes that do not support you.

These places are stores. They want to sell to you. They try to push the 32D on me when it slides all over the place. Please take your own measurements and search for your real size.

Measure your rib cage. Round up or down to the nearest band size.
30.1 inches = 30 inches.
35 inches = Most likely a 36 band

Then take your bust measurement.

Subtract the two and you will get your cup-size.

And please stop assuming that DD's means big and A's mean tiny. I've known girls with boobs as big as my head but are only A cups.
